Regional OSH Committee 6: Ready to serve
ILOILO CITY — The Regional Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committee 6 convened its members and key stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening OSH compliance, technical assistance, coordination, and advocacy initiatives across Western Visayas.
The meeting brought together representatives from key government agencies, workers’ and employers’ organizations, industry stakeholders, and other OSH partners to strengthen collaboration and establish coordinated approaches in addressing occupational safety and health concerns affecting workers and workplaces in the region.
Discussions focused on the alignment of policies, programs, advocacy initiatives, technical assistance, and capacity-building activities that will contribute to safer, healthier, and more productive workplaces. The committee also emphasized the importance of sustained coordination among government institutions, social partners, industries, and other stakeholders in ensuring that OSH standards are effectively implemented and translated into meaningful protection for workers.
As a regional coordinating mechanism, the Regional OSH Committee 6 seeks to facilitate stronger partnerships and promote a more integrated approach to occupational safety and health. Through regular consultation and collaboration, the committee aims to identify emerging OSH concerns, strengthen institutional responses, and support initiatives that address the evolving needs of workers and employers across Western Visayas.
